Efficient Vanadate Removal by Mg-Fe-Ti Layered Double Hydroxide

A series of novel layered double hydroxides (Mg-Fe-Ti-LDHs) containing Mg2+, Fe3+ and Ti4+ were prepared. The adsorption performance Mg-Fe-Ti-LDHs on vanadate in aqueous solution was investigated the effects various factors process examined, including initial concentration, adsorbent dosage, contact time, pH coexisting ions. preliminary discussion mechanism also presented. Results show that efficiency increased with introduction into laminate LDHs materials. capacity materials differed for different anion intercalated layers, Cl− intercalation showed higher removal compared to CO32− layer. Furthermore, Mg-Fe-Ti-CLDH pre-calcination. experimental data consistent Langmuir isotherm model kinetics followed a pseudo-second order kinetic model. significantly affected efficiency. Meanwhile, ions PO43−, SO42− NO3− exerted significant influence adsorption, magnitude related valence state anions. possible mechanisms can be attributed ion exchange ligand processes. good broadens application area functional LDHs.
